The first reason that people use email is that it is instant. You don’t need to wait for a signal from the other side or need their line to be free; all you need is an internet connection. The same comes with receiving email. Receiving email on your mobile phone has become necessity on most mobile phone providers.

People are now able to send and receive email on-the-go. This certain characteristic of email is called push.  With that, more and more people turn to email as their number one means of communication because it is push, or instant.

Secondly, the majority of email providers cost nothing nowadays. Large mainstream email providers such as Windows Live, Gmail, AOL, and Yahoo Mail offer great features for nothing. Nowadays, whilst working at large respective firms, it is almost guaranteed that you will get a corporate email as email has become the answer to efficient communication. Whether it be to a client on the other side of the world or a relative living a couple hundred miles away, the email will cost the same and will deliver no matter what.

One of the best things about email is that it doesn’t require physical labor of any sort unless you count typing it up! All you need to do is type the message and hit the send button and you’re all good. Even though it may seem insignificant but it is one of the main reasons that people use email. Email doesn’t “get lost in the mail” nor does it end up at the wrong address, as long as the receiver’s address is correct, they are guaranteed to receive the message.

Believe it or not, back when the earliest forms of internet were still in use, in order to have the receiver receive the initial email sent, you had to stay online until he/she received the email. But technology nowadays only makes it so that we only need to stay online until the sent button is hit. All it needs to send email today is a computer and a internet connection.

It’s no doubt that email has become a major influence in how we communicate with one another. Believe it or not, according to Startups.co.uk has revealed in study during 2003 that email has taken over the telephone as the main form of communication for firms large and small alike. This signifies the fact that email has evolved to become something that everyone has and uses.
